The Graphic Design & AI Certificate is a structured program that combines core design principles with AI-supported workflows, preparing students for a professional landscape in which artificial intelligence is increasingly integrated into everyday creative tasks. As AI becomes an essential part of modern design production, it is imperative that designers know how to use these tools strategically, efficiently, and responsibly. Students develop hands-on skills in image editing, vector design, and layout while applying AI for ideation, iteration, and refinement. The program emphasizes critical thinking, polished execution, and portfolio development to prepare students for contemporary design careers.

Program Overview

This program moves from foundational design knowledge to applied practice and final presentation, integrating AI at every stage of the graphic design process.

You will work through key areas of graphic design, including image editing, vector design, and layout systems, while developing projects that combine technical skills, design thinking, and AI-supported workflows. AI is used throughout the process for ideation, asset generation, iteration, and refinement, helping you explore ideas more efficiently and make better design decisions.

Module 1 – Design foundations and applied design

This section introduces graphic design as a system for visual communication and problem-solving. Students learn how elements such as composition, color, typography, and hierarchy work together to create clear, intentional designs.

• Elements of design (line, shape, color, texture, and space) as visual components.
• Principles of design (balance, contrast, hierarchy, alignment, and repetition) as organizational systems.
• Typography as a communication system.
• Color theory and its application in visual structure.
• Hierarchy and compositional systems.

Module 2 – Retouching and Photo Manipulation With Adobe Photoshop, Including AI

This section focuses on developing pixel-based image workflows in Adobe Photoshop. Students will learn how to manipulate, enhance, and construct images as part of a structured design process. The emphasis is on technical control, visual consistency, and intentional decision-making.

Module 3 – Design Vector Graphics With Adobe Illustrator, Including AI

This section focuses on developing vector-based graphics in Adobe Illustrator. Students will learn how to construct scalable visual elements with precision and control, including logos, icons, and illustrations. The emphasis is on structure, consistency, and clarity of form.

Module 4 – Create Layouts & Digital Publishing With Adobe InDesign, Including AI

This section focuses on organizing visual and textual content into structured layout systems in Adobe InDesign. Students will learn how to combine assets created in Photoshop and Illustrator into cohesive compositions for print and digital formats.

Module 5 – Advanced AI for Graphic Design, Portfolio Design and Presentations

This section focuses on developing a professional design portfolio that consolidates and presents work produced throughout the program. Students will curate projects from previous modules and transform them into structured case studies that clearly communicate the concepts, processes, and outcomes.

Attend weekly live online sessions for review and feedback.

Duration:

15 weeks. Live online sessions are held every Saturday.

90 hours of hands-on, project-based work.
